Being Skinny Was Never Supposed to Be an Insult

“Are you even eating?” “You’re too skinny.” “You look like a hanger.” “Eat something!”
“Do you even have a body?”
Somehow, we decided that commenting on a woman’s body was normal—as long as she was thin... We talk a lot about the pressure women face to lose weight, but there is another side of that conversation that often gets ignored: the girls who are naturally thin and still grow up feeling like their bodies are wrong.
Because being skinny doesn’t automatically mean being confident.
Some girls grow up hiding their arms because they’re “too thin.”
Some avoid fitted clothes because they’ll be told they look “flat.”
Some hear comments about their chest, their hips, their legs, their weight, over and over again....
And eventually, you start dressing for the comments.
Not for yourself, Not because you don’t love fashion, But because you’re constantly thinking:
Will someone say something?
Will this make me look too skinny?
Does this dress actually suit my body?
That’s the problem...
Your body was never supposed to be something you had to defend. Research has consistently connected appearance pressure and comparison with poorer body image, and even seemingly casual comments about someone’s body can have consequences.
At Aniksan, we don’t believe clothes should make you fight your body, We believe clothes should work with it.
That’s why we design silhouettes that adapt to different bodies instead of asking women to adapt themselves to a fixed silhouette.
Because whether you’re curvy, petite, tall, plus-size, straight-shaped or somewhere in between, you deserve clothes that fit you, not a body you have to become.
The silhouette should be perfected.
Not the woman wearing it.....
